Deerfield Beach to hold childrens fishing tournament

The Deerfield Beach recreation department will organize a fishing festival at the International Fishing Pier.

The Annual Deerfield Beach Jr. Anglers Day is a family-friendly experience where kids can improve their fishing skills while participating in a competition. The event will have fishing clinics led by experienced fishers and hands-on activities that help children become more confident anglers. Kids at the fest will receive themed bait bucket goodie Bags and can take part in crafting activities. The competition will be open to children ages 5-13.

The International Fishing Pier is a landmark in Deerfield Beach that people can use for outdoor recreation throughout the year. There is a shop at the pier that sells many kinds of fishing supplies, including bait buckets, fish rulers, chum bags, and fishing poles. Several programs are held at the structure, such as the International Fishing Pier Walking Club and Beach Yoga by Gro Yoga. People can purchase annual fishing passes to the pier for $625, and there are discounts for Deerfield Beach residents and veterans.

The children’s fishing festival will be held on Saturday, September 19th from 7:20 am to noon. Kids interested in participating in the fest can pay $10. There are multiple time slots that families can choose to join that last for 30 minutes. Local parks and recreation departments that hold events like this may use flyer printing to market their events to more families.
