In November, the Debt Management Credit Counseling Corp. (DMCC) will hold a virtual workshop for first-time home buyers in Deerfield Beach to learn the ins-and-outs of purchasing a home.
The DMCC is a non-profit credit counseling organization and housing agency approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Located in Deerfield Beach, the organization strives to provide financial education and personal assistance to consumers. November’s workshop will be held in an online format to provide further flexibility for those who cannot attend in-person events.
Expert financial counselors will demystify the process of buying a home for the first time. Some topics that will be explored include fair housing practices, proper budging, credit analysis, grant assistance, and mortgage prequalification requirements. All steps of the homeownership will be presented from shopping for a home to closing on it. At the end of the workshop, participants will receive a First Time Home Buyer Workshop certificate.
The first-time home buyer workshop is scheduled for November 13, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased from Eventbrite. Attendees will receive an emailed invitation to the workshop.
With many traditional in-person events like this currently being held virtually, some event organizers are taking advantage of this break from physical get-togethers by placing brochure and business card printing orders in preparation for when they return.
