The Deerfield Beach Little League Seniors team won the playoff and made it to the State Championships again this year. The eighteen member Deerfield team was able to advance after defeating the Coral Springs American team.
The team proudly displayed Banners announcing their wins with each colorful banner proudly displaying the District 10 and Section 8 championship titles they won. Banner printing is one of the printing services available at local Print shops.
Most of the players on the team this year were on the team in prior years. The team consists of 15- and 16-year olds who clearly worked hard throughout the year to come back stronger and faster. Although they repeated their District 10 win the challenge was not easy for the team.
The initial game at the playoffs had the Deerfield Beach team playing against North Springs Seniors. They won the 4-hour game which was delayed by storms and ran into extra innings. Ten innings later the team defeated North Springs with a score of 7-6. The final game against Coral Springs was won by Deerfield Beach with a score of 12-5.
Unfortunately, the team was not able to win the state championship but they were honored to be a part of it all. They won the initial game over St. Cloud 5-1 however they were defeated by Hancock and the Land O Lakes who eventually went on to win State Championship title.
