The 6th Annual Outrun Childhood Cancer 5K Run will be held in Deerfield Beach next month to raise money for pediatric brain cancer research.
The 5K will be hosted by Julia's Star Foundation (JSF), a non-profit organization that raises money for childhood cancer research and to support the families of pediatric cancer patients. All proceeds raised from the 5K run in September will go towards the Mayo Clinic’s pediatric brain cancer research and towards helping families with a child who is going through cancer treatment.
The run will be a competitive, chip-timed event with awards going to first in age groups and the top three finishers overall for men and women. There will be a fitness warmup before the run, as well as music and entertainment for both runners and spectators. Families with children will also have the Kids Zone to occupy the little ones with fun games and interactive entertainment. All awards will be handed out at a special awards ceremony after the race.
Running events often feature Banners as a way to decorate the race route and venue. Community Print shops with banner printing services can help organizers create such materials.
The 5K will take place on Sunday, September 18 at Quiet Waters Park, which is located on 401 Powerline Road, Deerfield Beach. Adult registration is $35, and youth registration is $25.
