Clean-up event to improve Deerfield Beach

In June, No Shenanigans Diving will host the annual Deerfield Beach Pier Clean-Up and invites all divers in the community to come out to help.

No Shenanigans Diving is a local dive shop located in Coral Springs that offers scuba lessons, service and repairs, diving accessories, and rentals. Every year the shop brings together the dive community to clean up the pier at Deerfield Beach. To participate in the event, volunteers must be certified divers. The city will close off the pier on the day of the event so that divers will be able to maneuver safely.

Organizers will arrive early to set up for the clean-up and will bring along breakfast, tea, and coffee to offer to volunteers. It is recommended that attendees bring along their own supplies, such as scissors, snips, and other related cutting tools, as well as small rakes. If volunteers need to rent diving equipment, it must be reserved in advance. To reserve, those interested can email the shop at nonshenanigansdiving@yahoo.com or call (954) 800-7147.

Community events like this are often advertised by the hanging flyers in high-traffic areas. These can be affordably printed in bulk by visiting local shops offering flyer printing services.

The pier clean-up is scheduled for June 18 from 7:30 am to 12:00 noon. Deerfield Beach Pier is located on 200 NE 21st Avenue.
