This June, the yearly SUP for Pups Intracoastal Challenge is set to return to Deerfield Beach for its second year.
Salty Dog Paddle is the creator and organizer of this annual fundraising event. The organization’s mission is to help injured marine animals and rescue dogs. To fund its efforts, Salty Dog Paddle sells Apparel, clothing, and services relating to surfing and paddleboarding, including rentals, lessons, and guided tours. Salty Dog Paddle also benefits from the sponsorship of notable companies and organizations including Applebees, Gratitude Wellness, Cafe Don Pablo Coffee, and Glide.
SUP for Pups will begin at 7:00 am with a warm up run prior to a 5k race. Deerfield Beach locals who wish to compete in the 5k can register online or in-person for $20 per person. Registration will be open until 7:30 am on the day of the event. 100% of all proceeds will go toward helping dogs and marine animals in need. When announcing community events, the hosts of similar fundraisers use poster printing to create detailed, colorful advertisements that summarize event information for anyone who is interested.
From 8:00 am to 9:00 am, the central 5k event will take place. Afterward, activities include paddleboard rentals, lessons, an intra-coastal water clean-up, a ceremony for awards, and a post-race party at a community restaurant.
SUP for Pups 2021 is scheduled to take place at Pioneer Park on Saturday, June 5.
