The city of Deerfield Beach will again celebrate its roots with its annual Pioneer Days Festival in a couple of weeks.
This year’s event will include a carnival, craftspeople and food vendors, a parade, and fireworks. The festival will also feature live entertainment.
The festivities kick off Friday evening and continue through Sunday. Saturday’s highlights will be a parade at 10:00 am. The theme for this year’s parade will be “Sail Away”. Those interested in participating will need to contact the Deerfield Beach Parks and Recreation department for registration information. Along with other preparations, it is likely that those entering a float for the parade will consult with a local printing company for banner printing services to ensure the judges along the route will be able to easily identify them.
Awards will be presented to participants in several categories, including Best Theme Float and Best Overall Float. Awards for the parade will be presented at the beach and trophies will be given for each category winner. The judges will be at the Main Beach Parking lot. Emcees along the route will call out information provided by the registrant prior to the event.
Saturday’s festivities will be capped off with a fireworks show at 9:05 pm.
The event will be held from Friday, February 15 through Sunday, February 17. The festival will be open from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm on Friday, 10:00 am – 10:00 pm on Saturday, and 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday. The location is the Main Beach Parking Lot at 149 SE 21st Ave.
