Master Chorale presents spring concert

Master Chorale of South Florida will present this year’s spring concert online. Titled Silver Linings, it will be an evening of optimism and joy for the future.

The concert’s eclectic program will include 12 musical selections. “Unclouded Day” arranged by Shawn Kirchner will open the evening’s performance. This piece from Three American tunes is an easy-listening arrangement of a gospel song written in bluegrass style.

That will be followed by Leonard Bernstein’s “Simple Song” from MASS, sung by tenor Patrick Muelheise. Rachmaninoff’s “Bogoroditse Devo” and John Williams’s Theme from Schindler’s List will come next.

Other male soloists will include Phil Denny, baritone, singing “How Can I Keep from Singing” and Henry Thacker Burleigh’s “Steal Away” will be performed by bass-baritone Lloyd Reshard Jr.

Female soloists will include soprano, Casey Kunmann singing Gershwin’s “Someone to Watch over Me” and soprano Robyn Marie Lamp singing: “The Lord’s Prayer” by Albert Hay Malotte.

The Chorale will present “Even When he is Silent” by Kim Andre Arnesen and “Pure Imagination” by Matthew D. Nielsen, before the event closes with “As Long as We Are Here” composed by Jake Runestad.

Members of the Master Chorale are premier classical music vocal volunteers. They come from Coral Springs’ Broward County, as well as Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties.

Tickets are $20, and 501(c)(3) organizations like this often appreciate monetary support through individual donations and Corporate Gifts.
