Coral Springs art lovers enjoy art night
Local creatives may want to mark their calendars for the Coral Springs Museum of Art's Art@Night coming in late October.
Attendees are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes as they view art at the museum. Part of the collection will be pieces from the SOBRA Collective – a group of art-minded people from Broward County that includes artists, curators, educators, and other professionals in the field. Attendees will also be treated to music selected by DJ Roofio, aka Joshua Simmons.
In addition to introducing locals to local art, the costume party is meant to bring more awareness to the SOBRA Collective. Its mission is to bring art to the people living in Broward Coward and cities like Coral Springs by establishing platforms such as this one. It also seeks to promote resources available to budding or struggling local artists. Membership is $25 per year and includes invitations to SOBRA Collective events and social gatherings. The group is currently accepting applications for membership.
Museums that hold special events like this often have pictures taken during the festivities. These photos often go to local print shops to be included in visitor brochure printing. Admission will be free, and beverages will be available for purchase
Art@Night: Costume Party will take place on Thursday, October 30 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The address is 2855A Coral Springs Drive.
