Many Coral Springs plant and orchid aficionados will be heading to the Orchid and Plant Festival coming in early December.
Local nurseries and growers will be selling plants, orchids, and handmade garden items. Guests may do some holiday shopping and pick up seasonal gifts such as gardening supplies and art. Some other vendors will be selling pottery, prints, planters, hangers, and stands, big leaf tropicals like philodendron, and palms, wood art, succulents, orchid jewelry and driftwood.
There will be educational talks on conservation, gardening and orchid care. Interactive displays, nature exhibits and other family-friendly activities will keep the little ones busy while conservation groups and local nonprofits will be distributing information about their missions, services and hours of operation.
Admission will be $8 and kids 8 and under can get in for free.
Proceeds from the event will go to Sawgrass Nature Center and Wildlife Hospital which provides environmental programs mostly centered on South Florida's Everglades ecosystem and rehabilitative care of native wildlife.
Festival guests may also want to stay around and enjoy the wildlife exhibits and meet some rehabilitated wildlife.
Organizations that support fundraising events like this often get flyer printing done a few weeks before the big day and place Flyers around their neighborhoods and at their workspaces.
Coral Springs Orchid and Plant Festival will take place Saturday, December 6th and Sunday, December 7th from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Sawgrass Nature Center, 3000 Sportsplex Drive.
