The Coral Springs Center for the Arts will hold a special concert in August that features three talented performers.
The Soca Heatwave is a live show where people can hear three soca icons give a high-energy performance that celebrates Caribbean music. Soca is a genre of music from Trinidad and Tobago that was established by Ras Shorty I to get more audiences interested in calypso-style songs. There will also be a party held before the concert called the Sunset Fete with drink specials, island-themed bites, and musical entertainment by DJ Powerhouse.
The three headliners for the Soca Heatwave will be Patrice Roberts, Alison Hinds, and Nailah Blackman. Roberts is a singer from Trinidad who won the Sangre Grande Junior Calypso Monarch competition and has earned titles like the National Soca Monarch. Hinds is a London-born performer based in Barbados who was the lead vocalist for the group Square One. Blackman has collaborated with several notable performers, including Kes and Shenseea.
The soca concert will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at 8:00 pm. Tickets to the event will start at $66. The Sunset Fete pre-show party will last from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and can be joined for an additional $20. Arts centers that host concerts like this may use flyer printing to increase interest in their shows.
