Coral Springs to celebrate International Peace Day

The City of Coral Springs will organize a special ceremony in September for the International Day of Peace.

International Peace Day is an event where people can gather with other members of the community to promote peaceful coexistence with those who are different. There will be local leaders at the event to give uplifting speeches, and attendees will get to enjoy live performances by students in the community. People can also celebrate the holiday by completing an online pledge of peace and printing out their own Imagine Peace Wish Tree tags to place on trees in the neighborhood.

The International Day of Peace is an event that was created by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981. The holiday was later designated as a period of non-violence and ceasefires in 2001. The theme for this year’s celebration is Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day, which will honor those who are everyday architects of peace. People can participate in the event by hosting peace circles, volunteering, and using their platforms to tell hopeful stories.

The International Peace Day celebration in Coral Springs will be on Friday, September 18th from 8:00 am to 9:00 am. The ceremony will be at the Center for the Arts. There is no cost or registration required to join the city and celebrate peace. Communities that organize gatherings like this can use poster printing services to inform more locals about their events.
