The 10th Annual ‘Golfing for the King’ Golf Classic will soon take place in Coral Springs. The event is sponsored by the Coral Springs Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Fund, which helps provide opportunities for local students that need assistance paying for the tuition fees at local universities and other educational institutions. The award is offered to seniors living and attending a high school in Coral Springs.
The Scholarship Program’s purpose is to award these scholarships to students who embody the spirit of Dr. King’s teachings. The student’s community service is also taken into account when the committee is awarding scholarships. Preference is given to those with financial need.
Thanks to the Committee’s efforts, more than 120 students have received scholarships through the donations from this event. Donations depend on the generosity of local businesses, who could perhaps obtain additional donations from individuals and corporations through Promotional Products and the services of a flyer printing company.
The event will take place tomorrow, October 23, or on the rain date of November 1. Registration starts at 7:00 am and the shotgun start is at 8:00 am.
