What's Happening in Clermont, FL…

Many Clermont runners are training for the AdventHealth Clermont Corny Costume 5k and 1 Mile coming at the beginning of October.

This will be a chance for runners to don those crazy costumes they wore in other AdventHealth 5ks, or create new ones. The flat course will take runners/walkers and joggers of all abilities and paces beside Lake Minneola.

In-person and virtual individual registration is $36 until September 10, upon which it will go up to $40. Those referring five or more registrants in their confirmation e-mails will receive $20 refunds off their own registration. All registration must be completed online before the event.

Swag includes maize colored T-Shirts sporting this year’s wacky corn graphic design, and finisher medals. In-person participants will get racing bibs with timing chips, and snack and beverage tickets.

Awards will go to top three female and male overall, female and male masters, and female and male winners in 10 age categories.

Packet pickup will be at Dash Sports, 741 w Montrose St., between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm on October 13, and on race day from 6:15 am to 7:15 am. Individual registration for the Piglet 1-mile, which is open to kids 12 and under, will be $12.

AdventHealth Clermont Corny Costume 5k and 1 Mile races will begin Downtown Clermont at 938 Victory Way on Saturday, October 14. The 5k is scheduled to begin at 7:30 am, with the kids' race beginning at 7:50 am.
