Clermont has two major events on its summer schedule.
The 4th of July annual Red, White and Boom celebration will be at Waterfront Park. Old-fashioned games and activities such as pie-eating and Most Patriotic Costume contests are being planned for the whole family.
The evening will begin at Highlander Pavilion with the singing of the National Anthem. A live band will keep things going throughout the rest of the night until a fireworks show featuring fireworks shot over Lake Mineola begins at 9:15 pm. The event will be free.
Red, White and Boom will run from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm on July 4th.
Downtown Clermont will once again bring the community together with its Sips and Salsa Festival coming in September.
The event will be a celebration of spicy Mexican cuisine and equally spicy salsa dancing and music. Everyone is invited to try their expertise in the domino tournament. A Kids’ Zone will have the traditional wet slides and bounce houses.
Families will be entering their pets in the pet parade and those with Chihuahuas will be cheering on their pets in the Chihuahua races.
Sips and Salsa Festival will be September 19 from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm in Downtown Clermont, 658 W. Montrose Street.
Cities that host events such as these often have pictures taken during the activities. These pictures are then sent to local Print shops to become part of the visitors’ guide brochure printing.
