Theatrical December ahead in Clermont

Three theatre shows will be presented in the town before Christmas.

The first will be a performance by Dueling Pianos. Two pianists will perform a part comedy, part rock show. Expected to be a high-energy audience will be able to request songs and then sing, stomp and dance along.

Dueling Pianos will be Friday, December 14 in the Black Box Theatre at the Clermont Performing Arts Center, 3700 S. Highway 27. The performance will begin at 8:00 pm.

The following night, little ones will enjoy the new holiday version of the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty. This version, titled ‘A Sleeping Beauty Christmas’, has a holiday theme in that the Beauty is born on Christmas Day and the slighted powerful sorceress casts a dark evil spell on Princess Aurora, her family and all the Christmas Party attendees. The music is a mix of original music, traditional Christmas favorites, and a few pop songs. It can be seen on Saturday, December 15 starting at 3:00 pm at the Performing Arts Center’s Mainstage.

The final performance for the year will be ‘Sleigh!’ This play has no dialog but does have a running storytelling component. Vignettes include a young couple with differing Christmas expectations, two rival shopkeepers vying for the same customers, and three mail carriers trying to make their Christmas deliveries.

Sleigh! will be December 22 at 3:00 pm, also at the Mainstage.

Going by the listings on their websites, these three events have had some eye-catching poster printing and performance brochure printing put together.
