UF/IFAS Residential Horticulture Agent Brooke Moffis will be presenting the second lecture of the nine classes being offered in the Florida Friendly Landscaping TM Speaker series ‘Right Plant, Right Place’.
Moffis will be presenting ideas about selecting and planting low-maintenance materials that will thrive in a Florida Friendly yard. She will discuss environmentally sustainable practices.
The expert will also offer suggestions on how to save the Florida landscaper money, time, and energy. There will be full color 110-page “Florida-Friendly Landscaping TM Guide to Plant Selection & Landscape Design” Brochures given out to those in attendance.
This series is being presented by UF/IFAS Extension Lake County Master Gardeners and the Clermont Garden Club. It focuses on the diverse planting regions found here in Florida. Seasoned Florida landscapers know that a variety of conditions can even exist in one yard.
Pre-registration is required and can still be done by contacting the Extension Office at 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares. Tickets are $5.
The UF/FAS Extension in Lake County is working to develop and disseminate information about natural, human, and agricultural resources. It has educational programs and provides free consultations.
The lecture is slated for Tuesday, September 13, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm at the Clermont Garden Club. The club is located at 849 West Avenue here in Clermont.
