Professional and amateur cyclists ready for Fondo Clermont

Although the 3rd Annual Fondo Clermont is not coming until early October, many competitive and recreational cyclists are putting in practice miles to get ready for the 30-, 50- or 75-mile races.

This two-day event will begin on the Saturday afternoon with a retail expo. Local businesses will be displaying the latest in bikes, bike accessories, and attire. Guests who may wish to get in touch with their favorite merchants often ask for Business Cards. Pre-registered athletes may pick up their race packets and late registration will also be available. Packets may also be obtained the next morning from 6:30 am until 7:30 am.

The racing will be the following day, on Sunday. All races and after-race activities, such as food trucks and live music, will take place at Victory Pointe at Lake Minneola. All routes have been professionally designed.

Many riders still have time to work with STRAVA by tracking their fitness, uploading workouts and staying motivated through its online program. STRAVA can also help cyclists improve and analyze performance through recording heartrate, pace and distances for comparison.

Volunteers will receive T-Shirts featuring the FCCUSA Logo Design, water bottles, and sling Bags.

All rides cost $75 until September 3, after which prices go up. They all begin at 8:00 am Sunday October 4 and end at Victory Pointe, 938 Victory Way, Clermont at 3:00 pm.
