Many outdoor events are scheduled for Saturday, April 18.
Earth Day 5 Mile & 2 Mile will start the day at 7:15 am at 931 Victory Way with a jaunt around Lake Minneola. Both runs will be out and backs along the South Lake Trail. The two events are scheduled so ambitious runners can run both races in the Lake Minneola 7-Mile Challenge.
5-Mile-Run preregistration is $39 and will go up to $45 after March 31. This race is set to begin at 7:45 am and close at 11:30 am.
The 2-Mile Run will cost $29 at preregistration and increase to $45 after March 31. It will start at 7:15 am and go until 11:00 am. Running both races will cost $68.
Shirts sporting the blue and green Logo Design will be guaranteed to early registrants.
From 9:00 am until 2:00 pm, Lake Hiawatha Park will have its annual Clermont Earth Day & Lake Cleanup. The clean-up will run from 7:30 am until 10:30 am. Prizes will be awarded in several categories. Afterwards, the Earth Day festivities will include environmental education, free food, music and an Earth Day Kids Zone.
That afternoon Lake Minneola’s Clermont Victory Point, 938 Victory Way will feature the Lake Minneola Sunset Triathlon, Duathlon, AquaBike, and 5K. The Sunset Sprint Triathlon, Relay, Duathlon and the Aqua Bike will begin at 6:15 am, and the Sunset 5k Walk/Run will start at 7:15 pm.
