For Clermont locals looking for something different this holiday season, the Performing Arts Center will soon be presenting the Motortown All-Stars Christmas Spectacular. It will be an evening filled with song and dance, with music from a full orchestra.
Motown was both a record label and genre during its heyday in the sixties, seventies and eighties. During that time many songs made it onto the pop charts and into the memories of people across the country. Now, many of the stars from the original Motown era have banded together to form a group called the Motortown All Stars.
They perform hit songs as originally recorded from such popular groups as the Miracles, the Capitols, and the Temptations. They also wear the same bright costumes worn by the originals performers and recreate the dance routines used by the groups that made the hits famous.
The singers are backed by a multitude of vocalists, adding subtlety to the music, and a 12-piece orchestra made up of musicians that appeared on the original recordings. Those planning to attend may want to purchase some of the Promotional Products on sale at the event.
