A new Clermont Signature event, the City of Clermont invites dogs and their owners to its first annual Pups in the Park event coming in mid-June.
This inaugural event will be a free canine celebration for pups and their families, where proud owners can get a chance to show off their pooches.
All during the morning pups can enter the Frisbee Competition and have Puppuccino with a Cop. Puppucino will be a tiny cup of whipped cream for the dog.
The event will open at 8:30 am. Among many other pooch and owner activities, a one-mile dog walk will begin at 9:00 am. That will be followed by a dog swimsuit competition and parade at 10:00 am.
Local dog-related businesses have been invited to sell their products (such as beds, furniture, bowls, collars, and feeders), accessories (toys, clothing, and shoes), pet supplies (food, grooming, cleaning, and flea and tick removal), and services (grooming, training, and dental care). Hundreds of Lake County dog lovers are expected to browse through the vendor area.
Many vendors at event such as this have Business Cards available for any passers-by who may want to purchase more items or services at a later date.
Pups in the Park will take place Saturday, June 12, from 8:30 am until 11:30 am near Lake Hiawatha Park at Lake Hiawatha Preserve, 450 12th Street.
