Light up Clermont 22 coming soon

The 33rd Annual Light Up Clermont will be coming to the downtown area in early December. This year’s theme will be “Claus in Clermont.”

Holiday festivities begin Friday, December 2 with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Attendees can enjoy live holiday music, carolers, DJ music, and dancing. Family food trucks will have holiday fare for purchase and Kiwanis Club of South Lake will be providing a photo opportunity with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Plenty of vendors will be on hand so guests can get a good start on their holiday shopping lists. The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

Many parents who take pictures of their little ones with Santa and Mrs. Claus often take the photos to local Stationery printers to become part of personalized Holiday Cards.

The next morning Saturday, December 3, the Hometown Parade will step off at Waterfront Park in Historic Downtown Clermont at 10:00 am. Spectators will see floats, local groups, bands marching through downtown Clermont, and Santa ushering in the holiday season at the end of the parade.

Trophies will be awarded to first and second places in adult and juvenile floats, high school marching bands, decorated vehicles, and marching and performing groups categories.

Many downtown merchants will be participating in the annual Cookies and Cocoa event coming on Friday, December 9 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Local acts will be performing.
