Lake County to welcome back long-running folk day

Public Arts and Music will be hosting its 19th Annual Lake County Folk Festival next weekend. The free event will be focused on folk, family and fun. This event is Florida’s oldest free folk festival.

Music genres will include Americana, blues, bluegrass, jazz, Celtic, and original works, as well as traditional and modern folk. Nine venues both indoors and out will be presenting over 50 groups, and more than 150 musicians are expected to perform. Fans may want to see if their favorite performers have brought any Promotional Products such as T-Shirts for purchase.

Arts and crafts made by local artisans will be on display and available for purchase. Those with intruments will enjoy the multiple Musician Jams.

Songwriters from here in Clermont will want to enter the Funniest Song Contest. Each entry will have a 10-minute time slot to present their song. Although they may have someone else perform their creation, they must introduce the piece themselves. The winning song will be performed again Sunday afternoon at the event finale.

The festival will begin Saturday, October 8 at 10:00 am. Music will be presented in multiple locations around downtown Eustis and on the waterfront. The main music stage will be in Ferran Park at 250 Ferran Park Drive on Lake Eustis. The main concert will be at sunset at the park’s band shell.
