Clermont turns out for charity

Two charity events are on their way to Clermont in the next couple of months.

One, The City of Minneola Dodgeball Tournament version 2.0, will be coming in a couple of weeks and the other will be our annual music festival.

The Dodgeball tournament teams will be coed and each will consist of four players with unlimited substitutions. Smaller courts will be used, meaning games will go faster, and the double elimination format will be used. Team costumes are welcome.

Registration will be $20 per player, and the organizers want the teams to know that the refs can be ‘bribed’. All money from this will go to the local cancer foundation.

Spectators will get free admission, but donations will be appreciated. Many will no doubt be bringing small Banners to support their favorite players and teams.

Also, this will be the 5th year for the Clermont Music Festival, where three stages will be graced by over 30 bands. There will be a Kids’ Zone, crafts, and food vendors. Everyone is welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

The Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation will receive all proceeds for both events.

The dodgeball tournament will be September 16 at Minneola City Hall Gym, 800 US-27, Clermont. Registration will begin at 9:00 am with the first game starting at 10:00 am.

The Clermont Music Festival will be October 14 starting at 11:00 am at Waterfront Park, 330 3rd Street, Clermont.
