Clermont to put runners through their paces

Clermont will be the Central Florida location of an Armageddon Ambush, which is a color and mud run. It will be a 3.1-mile obstacle course race over mud and through color ambushes, guaranteed to challenge even the toughest athletes.

The course is a series of 18 to 23 professionally built obstacles. Competitors will be running and crawling through clean mud. This means the mud will be free of rocks and debris. The course will be especially constructed to fit the terrain. The race will be divided into waves. Runners can purchase paint along the route.

Even though cameras will be allowed, the event organizers cannot promise that they will be safe. Professional photographers will be taking pictures during the run, but this does not guarantee that every runner will be photographed.

Some runners do not mind wearing the mud after the race, but others may wish to bring a change of clothing. For runners who do not bring any fresh clothes, Armageddon Gear will be available for purchase.

Food, beverages and items from local vendors will be available. This will be an opportunity for local businesses to get their logo designs on promotional Drinkware that the food and beverage vendors will be using.

A postrace party will follow the event, which is scheduled for March 4 from 8:00 am until 11:00 am at Off Road Hummer, 6024 County Road 561, Clermont.
