Clermont to get running and swimming in December

Many Clermont runners are gearing up for two events coming in December – Champions Swim Run and AdventHealth Santa's Twilight 5K.

Champions Swim Run will benefit the Boys and Girls Club, and three distances will be available. The Sprint will be a 250-yard pool swim followed by a 5k run/walk; the Super Sprint will be 100-yard swim followed by a 2-mile run/walk, and a Mini Distance for the younger athletes will be a 50-yard swim and a quarter-mile run/walk.

Swag will include custom swim caps, finisher medals, chip timing, club shirts, Smoothie King samples, souvenir flags, and Clermont Police Department giveaways.

Awards will be given in each event to top two female and male finishers in 20 age groups and to overall female and male finishers.

Registration will be $25 for Sprint runners, $15 for Super Sprint; and $10 for Mini Distance participants.

Champions Swim Run will be December 3 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at National Training Center, 1935 Don Wickham Drive.

AdventHealth Santa’s Twilight 5k will be a night run through Historic Downtown Clermont with Christmas lights and carolers. Swag includes green long-sleeve shirts sporting the event’s Christmas alligator graphic design, finisher medals, jingle bells, hot chocolate, holiday cookies, and glow necklaces.

Costume contest winners will win prizes in Fastest Santa, Crowd Favorite, Best Group, Most Creative, and Most Electrifying categories.

AdventHealth Santa’s Twilight 5k will be December 17 beginning at 6:00 pm at Clermont City Hall.
