The City of Clermont is inviting one and all to its annual Clermont Earth Day and Lake Clean up, coming toward end of April.
From 7:30 am to 10:30 am, volunteers will be cleaning up local parks and lakes. Prizes will be awarded for the oddest item found, most weight collected, and largest group of attendees. This will be a great project for Boy or Girl Scouts groups.
All participants who pre-register before Friday, April 5 will receive T-Shirts sporting this year's graphic design. Those who opt to register on event day will not be guaranteed shirts.
From 9:00am to noon, the Community Earth Day Environmental Educational Festival at Lake Hiawatha Park will feature local nurseries, animal organizations, farmers, landscapers, and beekeepers who will be giving informative demonstrations, discussions, and small sessions about their businesses and how they relate to Earth Day. Each business or organization will have an educational Earth Day activity.
Although nothing will be for sale, businesses may display their company's Logo Design and pass out promotional items such as rulers, Totes, and promotional Pens.
Other festival activities will include a DJ providing the music, and a kids' zone where children can learn about the environment and enjoy Earth Day-themed activities.
Clermont Earth Day 2024 will take place on Saturday, April 20 at Lake Hiawatha Park, West of the Roundabout, 450 12th Street.
