The 33rd Annual Florida Challenge Triathlon, Florida USA Triathlon 2017 Regional Championship, is coming later this month.
This year’s event is called the Intimidator, and the 34th Great Clermont Triathlon will be the following day.
The Intimidator Triathlon will be a 1.2-mile swim followed by a 56-mile bike ride and ending with a 13.1-mile run. The Long Distance Aqua Ride will consist of a 1.2-mile swim and a 56-mile bike journey. The Sprint Triathlon will have a quarter-mile swim, an 8-mile Bike, and a 3.1-mile run. The Open Water Swim will cover 1.2 miles. Medals and event shirts will go to the finishers, while awards will be handed out to the three top finishers in each division.
The Clermont Triathlon will be no less daunting. The International Distance Triathlon will consist of a 10K run, a 40K bike, and 1.5K swim. The International Distance Aqua Bike will have a 1.5K swim and a 40K bike. The International Distance Duathlon will be a 5K run, a 40K bike, and a 10K run. Finishers will receive the same amenities and awards. Some spectators will no doubt be bringing Banners to support their favorite participants.
The Intimidator is scheduled for March 18 and the Clermont Triathlon will be March 19. Both events will begin at 7:30 am and will take place at the Clermont Waterfront Park, 330 3rd Street.
