Many friends and families here in Clermont will begin their 4th of July festivities by running or walking in the 4th AdventHealth Clermont Freedom 5k.
Swag will include gender-specific medium blue singlets featuring the event’s red-and-white-striped, aqua-blue-with-white-star graphic design. Finishers will receive medals featuring the same colorful design, watermelon, and post-race snacks.
The course will begin at the intersection of Lake Avenue and West Osceola St., head down West Oscenia Street, turn north on 3rd, continue back along the lake up to the turnaround on the trail at Fran Mar Court, ending at Suncreek Brewery.
Participants are encouraged to come dressed in their patriotic best. Prizes will be given to the best team, male, and female costumes.
In-person registration is $40, and virtual runs are $38. Teams of four or more will receive $5 off per member. Those that opt to run three or four of the FloDash Race Series (which includes the Freedom 5k, Turkey Trot & 10K in November, Reindeer Dash in December, and the Howey-in-the-Hills 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon in February 2024) will receive 10% discounts. There will be no onsite registration, so participants must sign up online.
Race packets will be available from noon to 3:00 pm this Sunday, July 2 and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Monday, July 3 at Dash Sports, 741 W Montrose St., as well as 6:15 am to 7:10 am at the event on race day. The Clermont Freedom 5k will begin at 7:30 am in Downtown Clermont on July 4.
