Many Clermont residents are looking forward to the city’s annual 4th of July celebration, called Red, White, and Boom.
The park will offer Americana-type activities for the young and old, and food trucks will be peddling traditional summer fare. This year’s entertainment will be provided by The Actual Bank Robbers. There will be pie-eating and patriotic costume contests, and guests are encouraged to become part of the American Flag cup display.
Local businesses will be selling 4th of July-themed items and passing out Business Cards with information about their location, hours of operation, and goods and services.
The City of Clermont will be holding a voter registration drive during the event where people can register or update their information. Goodies Bags will be available. The evening will end with fireworks over Lake Minneola.
The event will be free to attend, and free transportation will be available from the Clermont Middle School parking lot, 301 East Avenue. Shuttles from West Park/Public Works, 658th 12th Street will take guests to Victory Pointe, which is an excellent viewing area for the fireworks.
This year’s Red, White, and Boom will begin at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 4th in Historic Downtown Clermont at Waterfront Park, 3033 3rd Street. It should wind down around 10:00 pm. Fireworks will go off beginning at 9:15 pm. Event organizers encourage everyone to bring blankets and arrive early to claim good viewing spots.
