Clermont lights up for Christmas

Clermont is getting into the Christmas spirit in just a few days. To start things off, the city will be having its Light Up Clermont 2016 Candy Land.

The fun will start on Friday evening with food trucks, the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, and Holiday music on the Main for singing and dancing. Photos can be taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, thanks to the South Lake Kiwanis Club. These pictures could still be used for this year’s Holiday Cards.

The next morning will offer entertainment and music, which will last into mid-afternoon. Crafts and food will be on hand before and after the Holiday Parade. The evening will have two lessons and carols concerts.

Light Up Clermont take place over the next two days (December 2 and 3) at City Hall Park. Friday night festivities will begin at 5:30 pm at Montrose and 7th Streets. Dancing with a DJ will be between 8th and West Avenues going from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the Clermont City Center at 620 W. Montrose Street from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

On Saturday, the fun starts at 10:00 am in City Hall Park and will go until 2:30 pm. Downtown Clermont will be the location of the Holiday Parade, which will start at 1:00 pm. The Clermont Performing Arts Center at 3700 s. Hwy 27 will be having its two Carols Concerts at 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
