The City of Clermont will open the holiday season with its two-day Light Up Clermont 2017 Toyland coming later today.
The holiday tradition will kick off with a tree lighting ceremony.
Local businesses will have booths with representatives passing out Flyers, Promotional Products, coupons, and freebies. Artists and craftspeople will be vending their handmade items. Of course there will be plenty of local food vendors hawking seasonal favorite treats. The annual old-fashioned Christmas parade will step off the next morning and go through downtown.
The parade will begin on 3rd Street and proceed south, then turn west onto W. Minneola Avenue. It will turn south onto Lake Avenue and go west on W. Montrose Street, where it will turn north onto West Avenue. It will then go east on W. Osceola Street, north on 5th, and take the 1st exit around the Traffic Circle. Finally, it will disband at Waterfront Park.
The finale will be at the Clermont Performing Arts Center (3700 S. US-27), which will be an evening of fine music. The performance will feature tenor Ben Gulley. He and four local choirs will be presenting “Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.
Light Up Clermont tree lighting will take play in downtown Clermont beginning at 5:00 this evening (December 1). The parade will start at 10:00 am tomorrow, with the music performance at 5:00 pm and again at 8:00 pm, December 2.
