Clermont kids look forward to towns fall festival

Clermont kids of all ages are looking forward to the annual Clermont Harvest Festival coming in a few weeks. The event will once again be presented by the Clermont Downtown Partnership.

Shops in the downtown area will stay open as the crowds meander through them and the 130 Arts and Crafts and merchandise vendors booths. There will be fresh apple pies for sale, an apple pie eating contest, and food vendors and food trucks will be offering other fall treats.

Everyone will want to gear up for the costume contest. Pictures taken of the winner may be included in the town’s 2019 brochure printing.

Pumpkin decorating will be available from 10:00 am until noon, and a kids’ zone (featuring games, bounce houses, and face painting) will then open at noon and stay open until 5:00 pm. The costume parade will start at 5:30 pm and the First United Methodist Church will then be the location of the Trunk-or-Treat starting at 6:00 pm.

The event will also include train and hay rides, a petting farm, a pop-up Escape Room.

At 6:45 pm, runners will line up for the 5K Nightmare Run. The course will be on the South Lake Trail starting close to Clermont Historic Village and end in the downtown district just north of Montrose Street.

Clermont Harvest Festival 2018 will be October 27 from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm in Downtown Clermont on West Montrose Street. Admission will be free.
