Clermont hosts long-running triathlon
The 30th Great Floridian Multisport Festival will be held in Clermont at the end of October.
The USAT 2020 140.6 Full Distance Ultra National Championship will take place Saturday and Sunday mornings starting at 7:30 am. This will feature a 26.2-mile run, 112-mile bike ride, and a 2.4-mile swim.
On the Saturday morning at 7:45 am, the Ultra Distance 2-3 person relay and a 5-to-9-person full distance relay will run simultaneously.
For those athletes not wanting to do a full distance on Saturday, the festival will also have an event at two thirds of the distance (17.4-mile run, 77.3-mile bike ride, and a 1.6-mile swim) and one at a third of the distance (8.9-mile run, 41-mile bike ride and a 0.8-mile swim). These events will include relays of two or three people.
Also on the Saturday, starting at 9:15 am, there will be a Long Distance Duathlon featuring an 8.9-mile run and a 41-mile bike ride.
Other events will be Aquabike (112-mile bike ride and 2.4-mile swim) Saturday from 7:30 am until noon, a two-thirds distance Aquabike starting at 8:30 am and a one-third distance Aquabike beginning at 9:00 am. The 2.4-mile open water swim will begin at 7:30 am.
Winners at events such as these usually have pictures taken that will go to print shops for duplicates.
