Clermont has spring water festival

New Beginnings of Central Florida is hosting its sixth annual Clermont Waterfront Festival in a few weeks. The free one-day event will feature craft and food vendors, a kids' zone and live entertainment.

Runners will be lacing up their sneakers for the 5K run. The run will begin at 7:30 am and go until 10:00 am. Registered runners will receive free breakfasts and finisher medals. Runners will also receive T-Shirts touting the event’s graphic design. Awards will go to the top overall male and females, and to the first female and male finishers in 15 age groups.

Teams of 10 or 20 family members, coworkers, and friends will compete in the annual Dragon Boat Races. Entrance fees include a free coaching session and teams will compete in at least three races on the 350m course.

Teams of two will compete in the canoe race. Registration fee will be $100 per team.

Teams in events such as this often get some brightly colored T-Shirts printed for each member with the team Logo Design to show their team unity and spirit. The event will support the efforts of New Beginnings of Central Florida, an organization that serves the local poor, hungry, and homeless.

The Clermont Waterfront Festival will be Saturday, May 18 from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm on Lake Minneola at Waterfront Park, 685 W. Montrose Street.
