Clermont goes grape stomping

The Lakeridge Winery and Vineyards Summer Grape Stomp is coming next weekend. The two-day event will have everyone “doing the purple foot dance” as they opt to stomp grapes.

Guests will be stomping for prizes such as T-Shirts sporting the event’s graphic design.

The Smokin’ Torpedoes will kick things off at 10:00 am next Saturday, June 8 at the Outdoor Stage, and will be followed by the Ronnie Duncan Band. On Sunday, June 9, the event will open at 11:00 am with Shawline and close with the Buddy Blues Band.

The Wine & Cheese Bar will feature the Rusty & Laurie Wright Duo on Saturday and Beautiful Bobby Blackmon on Sunday.

A variety of food, wine and soft drinks will be for sale in the food pavilion. Some options will include Greek, American, Mexican, BBQ, and seafood. Treats such as kettle corn, ice cream, slushies, and pretzels will also be available. The winery will offer six to eight wines for tastings and 20-minute tours throughout the day.

Corn hole games will be set up on the grassy areas of the festival grounds. Everyone is invited to lay out blankets and set up chairs out under the shade trees, listen to the bands, and watch the games.

Some of the proceeds will go to LovExtension, a nonprofit organization that helps the elderly and those with disabilities in The Villages and Lake County.

Lakeridge Winery and Vineyards is located at 19239 US-27, Clermont.
