The Clermont community is invited to Pig on the Pond for the kids coming in the next few days, a festival that’s proceeds go to South Lake County scholarship and educational programs.
The family-friendly event will have carnival rides and games and live entertainment. Crafters will be selling their creations so attendees will want to bring money. Non-profit organizations will be disseminating information about their services to the community. Competitions will be a large part of the day. Some activities will include Pig Racing, a wakeboard competition presented by Performance Ski &Surf, a Chili Challenge and a Mac 'n' Cheese competition. A Rib Run for Education will be a 5K Run/Walk that will kick off at 8:00 Am Saturday morning.
Music for the first evening will be the Fender Benders, a trio that plays rockabilly, classic country and music from the '50s and '60s. Some of Saturday’s entertainment will be the First United Methodist Church Praise Band, the Clermont Middle School Jazz Ensemble and the Lost Lake Elementary School Chorus.
