Two eclectic events are coming to Clermont over February.
Clermont families and friends looking for a laid-back day are invited to attend Reggae on the Lake: A Celebration of Legends Bob Marley and Dennis Brown, which is coming to RasState in early February. The event will have live music, food vendors, and DJs.
Reggae icon Bob Marley is known for songs such as Three Little Birds and Redemption Song, while influential Jamaican singer Dennis Brown recorded the likes Revolution, Too Much Information, Money in My Pocket, and Here I Come. Reggae fans can go to either artist’s official website to find tank tops, T-Shirts, and swim trunks, with Marley in particular known for his iconic graphic design.
Tickets are free, but it may be wise to get them online before the event. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and umbrellas.
Reggae on the Lake will take place Saturday, February 4 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at the RasState, 9117 Jack Underwood Road.
The 2023 South Lake Rotary Mardi Gras Race will have a 5K, 10K, and a kids’ fun run. Adult races will be $45 on race day, and the kids’ fun run will be $5.
The 10K starts at 7:30 am, the 5K at 7:45 am, and the kids’ run at 9:15 am on Saturday, February 18 at downtown’s Victory Pointe, 938 Victory Way.
