It will soon be time once again for the great Chili Cook-off, presented by Stormy Hill Harley-Davidson. All types of chili – including vegetarian, sweet, hot, and meat-based – will be welcome.
Teams of five or fewer need to register by Monday, February 12 and pay the $10 entry fee. Every team will have a name and choose one of its members to be head chef. Each will be required to bring at least two gallons of chili to the venue. This must be in containers that will keep it protected and hot during the two-hour event. Storm Hill Harley-Davidson will provide bowls and spoons.
Attendees will begin tasting and judging the chili starting at 11:00 am. The judging results will be tallied at 12:30 pm with awards presented at 1:00 pm. The grand Prize will be $200 and second and third place winners will receive prizes too. Tasters will need to pay $5.
Proceeds will go to the AaronStrong Foundation – a non-profit organization with a mission to assist individuals in confronting and persevering through adversity. Some of its programs include GRIT – a free community class for middle and high school students that teaches ‘Growth, Resilience, Initiative, and Tenacity’.
Flyers say that the Chili Cook-off will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm next Saturday, February, 17 at the Stormy Hill Harley Davidson at 2480 S. Highway 27 in Clermont.
