Many Triathlon Club runners here in Clermont are celebrating the new year by attending a kick-off event and getting in shape to compete in the Super Bowl Duathlon coming in early February.
The 2025 Clermont Triathlon Club will hold an event to get the year started with a shuffleboard tournament and pickleball. A team photo will be taken, and dinner will be afterwards in downtown Clermont. Team photos are usually taken to local Print shops to be made into duplicates for team members.
The 2025 CTC Kickoff will take place January 1 beginning at 2:00 pm at Kehlor Building, 466 W Minneola Avenue.
The club's first athletic event of the year will be the Super Bowl Duathlon.
This pair of two-mile runs will be out-and-back events beginning on the beach parking lot perimeter and running on the park's internal roads. The 12-mile bike ride, taking place between the two races, will consist of two laps on internal roads within the park.
Preregistration is $35. All participants will receive souvenirs, and Super Bowl Du shirts will go to the top 15 female and male finishers.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the club. Packets will be available from 8:00 am to 8:30 am on race day in the beach parking lot.
The Super Bowl Duathlon will take place at Lake Louisa State Park, 7305 US Highway 27 on Saturday, February 8. The event will open at 7:30 am and close around 11:00 am, with the race starting at 9:00 am.
