Lake County – Keep Lake Beautiful and the City of Clermont Environmental Services Department will be presenting their annual Clermont Earth Day & Lake Clean-up event in a few weeks.
The event, as always, will be free and will be an opportunity for Clermont residents to volunteer some time to beautifying Lake Hiawatha and enjoy a day of festivities.
The morning will begin with a three-hour lake clean up. Organizers are hoping that this year’s event will beat last year’s total trash recovery of over 1,800lb of trash. Participants are asked to pre-register and will receive free tees sporting the event’s graphic design.
After the clean-up, the venue will open with an Earth Day celebration. There will be environmental education booths, nonprofit food vendors, entertainment and a music DJ. Kids will get their own Earth Kids Zone and there will be plenty of giveaways.
Local businesses and organizations will have booths on-site and will be promoting their products, missions and services by passing out Promotional Products, coupons, free samples, and Flyers.
Clermont Earth Day & Lake Clean-up 2018 will be Saturday, April 21, at the Lake Hiawatha Preserve, 450 N. 12th Street/ SR 561. This location is west of the roundabout. Clean-up will be from 7:30 am until 10:30 and the Earth Day fun will be from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
