Clermont arts venue offers eclectic March performances

Between the two theaters at the Clermont Performing Arts Center, there will be four presentations during March.

On Friday, March 5 beginning at 7:30 pm, Celtic Angels will hold one performance on the Center’s Mainstage Theater. This is an ensemble of young talent from Ireland. Five vocalists, The Celtic Knight Dancers, and the Trinity Band Ensemble of Dublin come together to perform Irish favorites such as “Ireland I’m Coming Home”, “Danny Boy,” and other music such as “You Raise Me Up” and “How Great Thou Art.” Tickets run from $20 to $35.

“Pop, Rock and Doo Wop” takes over the Mainstage on March 18 and 19. Starting at 7:30 pm, three classic artists (Bobby Rydell, Jay Siegel, and Stan Zizka) and three iconic vocal groups (Tokens, Mystics, and The Del-Satins) will perform songs that made them famous. Some of these will include “Volare,” “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” “White Cliffs of Dover,” and “Teardrops Follow Me.”

On March 12, 2:00 pm, the You Are Still There series at the BlackBox Theater will present Emmy winner Charlie Grinker. This Peabody award winner will relate tales of daredevil drivers and unforgettable cars in Auto Magic.

The series will turn to aviation on March 26. Beginning with the Wright Brothers’ Dayton bicycle shop and continuing to John Glenn, Chuck Yeager and Sally Ride, Charlie Grinker will present The Joys of Flight.
