Clermont's second annual Juneteenth Celebration is being planned for mid-June, and its annual 4th of July event is still in the planning stages.
The event will have music, art, and authentic food in this educational and cultural freedom celebration. Local businesses, retailers, food, and non-profits will have 10' by 10' spaces where they can pass out Business Cards, food items, and informational Flyers.
Art and essay contests are open for children from the ages of 4 to 18. The art portion will include drawings, paintings and collages depicting Juneteenth, while the essay section will contain written reflections and thoughts about the celebration. All entries will receive ribbons or certificates. Prizes for the top three winners will be awarded in K-5, Middle School, and High School categories and announced during the Juneteenth Celebration.
This year's Juneteenth Celebration will be Saturday, June 15 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Waterfront Park, 330 3rd Street.
Clermont's Red, White and Boom! will offer the traditional American experiences including activities and fireworks reflected in Lake Minneola. This year, food will be available from trucks only. Many food trucks are decked out with local businesses' Logo Design on the trucks themselves or on the vendors' paper products.
These activities and fireworks will be on July 4 at Waterfront Park from 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
