The City of Clermont will be celebrating Earth Day with a Clermont Earth Day Lake Clean-Up and Festival, as well as a few running events.
Local groups and individuals are volunteering to help clean up the four lakes in the Lake Hiawatha Preserve. Prizes will be awarded for youngest participant, most participants on a team, most trash weight, and oddest object. T shirts sporting this year’s graphic design will go to those that pre-register.
The free festival will feature an Earth Kids’ Zone, environmental education booths, free food with music provided by a local DJ, aerial performances, and plenty of giveaways.
Although not selling anything, vendors at the festival will be promoting their goods and services and passing out Flyers and Business Cards. Each participating vendor has been asked to provide some interactive environmental activity.
The clean-up has been scheduled for 7:30 am to 10:30 am and the festival will take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Lake Hiawatha Park in the Lake Hiawatha Preserve, 450 12th Street on April 23.
Early that morning at 7:15 am Waterfront Park, 330 3rd Street, will have a Earth Day Five Miler & Two Miler. The races will be out-and-backs along the scenic South Lake Trail.
In the evening, beginning at 6:15pm, Clermont Waterfront Park will have the Lake Minneola Sunset Sprint Triathlon-Duathlon and 5K. The triathlon will be a 3.1 mile run after an 8-mile bike ride and a quarter-mile swim.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards Get a Free Quote for Flyers
