Circus all set to roll up in Clermont

Clermont families are sure to have their heads turned by the upcoming Cirque Zumba Zumba.

Billed as “part Cirque du Soleil, part Harlem Globetrotters”, this group of male, female, and children perform fast-paced African music acrobatics, dance, and rituals. Six performers of Cirque Zamba Zamba have performed on 2011 America’s Got Talent.

Talented youngsters from over 16 African nations are set to amaze audiences with their renditions of African cultural traditions. These performers have been taught in music, dance, vocals and African cultural rituals in training schools in Tanzania and Kenya. Some of these acts will include South African gumboot dancers, Gabonese Tumblers, pole acts, Ethiopian contortionists, and foot-table juggling. Comedy and Zimbabwean percussionists, along with the Zumba Zumba Acrobats, are slated to perform.

Some other performances will be a female vocalist from South Africa, a limbo dance, a chairs handstand balance act from Tanzania, an Africa-Africa lion dance, and club and hats juggling. Another act will feature 10 performers creating a human pyramid.

Pictures of these colorful performances make interesting subjects for promoting the show in either Brochures, Flyers, or online websites.

The Cirque Zumba Zumba performance is scheduled for Saturday, February 4 at the Clermont Performing Arts Center’s Main Stage, 3700 South Highway 27 here in Clermont. The show will begin at 4:00 pm. Tickets range from around $26 to a little over $48.
