Cape Coral students can keep busy over the long summer by learning a new instrument or perfecting a favorite recipe.
For the 26th year, the Music Foundation of Southwest Florida will operate a summer arts camp. Many of the camps are designed for students in grades six through 12, although a few programs accept students starting in grade three. Programs are available in theater, visual arts, music, and the culinary arts.
Each program lasts for one week and there are four sessions, running from June 19 until July 21. The typical camp runs from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm every day. The cost is $150 per week. Admission covers all activities, breakfast and lunch daily, and a T-shirt.
Organizations that put together special programs for students can use Brochures to get the word out to parents and teachers. Brochures can include information about the camps and programs, including location.
The summer music and arts camps will be held in Fort Myers, at the Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School. The counselors and instructors will include professionals in their fields, such as professional musicians and teachers.
Along with the returning camps, the Music Foundation is introducing a new program, exclusively for students in grades eight through 12. The High School Ensemble Camp will run for a week, from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon each day. It costs $100 per week and includes a variety of ensembles, such as the Clarinet Ensemble and Saxophone Ensemble.
