An upcoming Cape Coral fishing tournament will raise funds to assist owners with home repairs and maintenance.
The Lee County Building Industry Association (BIA) will present the 19th annual Bricks and Sticks Fishing Tournament in support of Builders Care, the association’s non-profit organization.
Builders Care works with representatives of the construction industry and other sponsors to offer free emergency home repairs to seniors and physically challenged individuals.
The homeowners generally cannot pay for the repairs themselves and may be experiencing an unhealthy or unsafe situation that requires prompt attention. Over 20 years, Builders Care has contributed more than $6 million on more than 500 home repair jobs.
The fishing derby fundraiser will include three days of activities and celebration. On opening night, a captains' dinner will feature food and drinks, raffles and more.
A welcome reception on the following evening offers the opportunity for participating contractors, builders and businesses to network while enjoying drinks and live entertainment.
Anglers hit the water on day three for the fishing competition followed by an awards dinner and live auction. There will be over $10,000 in prizes given away.
Non-profit groups that organize events such as this often use printing services for their required event materials.
The Lee BIA’s Brick and Sticks Fishing Tournament will be held from June 11 to 13, 2026 in and around the Westin Hotel in Cape Coral.
