The Northwest Regional Library, in Cape Coral, is offering a number of programs to keep people of all ages occupied throughout the month of January. Many of these are free of charge and open to the public.
This Thursday, January 7, at 11:00 am, children aged two through five can dance away the winter blues during the Ants in Your Pants Dance party. Pre-registration is required for the program.
After what might have been a stressful holiday season, adults are invited to unwind during the Coloring for Adults program, scheduled for 6:30 pm on January 12. Although once considered an activity for children, many adults have found that coloring is a valuable stress-reliever that also helps increase creativity. The library will be providing all materials.
On Wednesday, January 20, at 2:00 pm, the library will host a discussion of the book ‘A Land Remembered’, by Patrick D. Smith. The novel centers on the story of the MacIvey family, who, over the course of three generations, rose from poverty to immense wealth. Those interested in the book discussion are asked to register in advance.
The library can use poster printing to promote the Florida Before Statehood exhibit, which will be on display throughout the month, during the library's usual opening hours. The exhibition, which is from the History of Museum of Florida, allows visitors to explore the history of Florida.
