Bradenton to hold annual parade

The Hernando DeSoto Historical Society will be hosting its annual DeSoto Grand Parade this April in Bradenton.

The DeSoto Grand Parade is an event that celebrates Manatee County’s Spanish-American heritage. The parade is a popular festival that attracts tens of thousands of people to the Bradenton area and is one of the oldest parades held in Southwest Florida. There will be over 150 entries this year, with many floats passing out beads, coins, and other items to attendees. Guests can also catch a glimpse of the festival’s queen and princess.

Businesses and non-profit organizations can participate in the parade by registering and creating a float. Companies can pay $695.50 to enter into the event, while charitable groups and schools can register for $481.50. Marching bands can join the parade for free. There will be a digital board set up at the festival that businesses can use to display their advertisements. Companies that take part in shows like this can make Promotional Products to hand out to event-goers.

The DeSoto Grand Parade will be held on Saturday, April 25 and will begin at 6:30 pm. The festival will start its route at Manatee High School. Those who have floats for the parade can drop them off at the staging area at 9:00 am. Any beads or supplies for the floats must be dropped off before 4:00 pm.
