For the first time, the Formula One Powerboat Series will kick off the new year at the Bradenton Area River Regatta.
The multi-race North American series is made up of events throughout the year that feature top Formula One boats and drivers racing at up to 120 miles per hour. Bradenton will host the series as part of Manatee County’s biggest annual spectator event.
Two other new race series have also been added to this year’s regatta. Formula Lights and tri-hulls will join in the all-day action on the river. Tri-hulls are small high-speed boats with precision turning abilities.
Held along the Manatee River, the regatta will offer something for all ages. There will be interactive exhibits, kids’ activities, live entertainment, plus food and beverage vendors. Live music in Rossi Park will feature ABBA and Fleetwood Mac tribute bands who will warm up the crowd ahead of an opening night light show. The skyline will be illuminated by a lighted drone show and pyrotechnics fireworks display.
Organizers of large outdoor races such as this often use banner printing to draw attention to their featured events and activities.
The 11th annual Bradenton Area River Regatta is free to attend and will be held February 20 to 21. Further details, including information on parking and available shuttle services, are available on the event website.
